Before I was a Paper Crafter I was a Cross Stitcher.  In fact it was my love of Cross Stitch that made me discover my first stamps.  It was the late 1980’s I was living in Somerset and went to my local independent craft store for some more cross stitching supplies and the store owner had brought back some stamps and ink pads from a trip to the USA.  I bought a couple of each and was so hooked I went back the next day and bought the rest of them.  I loved the speed of the stamping and how easy it was to make cards.  That was over 30 years ago! You can imagine my excitement when I saw this Cross-Stitched Christmas stamp set in the catalogue.  It was an opportunity to combine 2 of my favourite crafts, without having to stitch anything.

Cross-stitched Christmas Card Stampin' Up! UK Inspiring Inkin' Amanda Fowler

There are 2 main images in this Cross-Stitched Christmas stamp set, a Christmas tree which you can see on the card above and a bauble.  They both have 3 layers of stamping so you can have lots of fun designing colour combinations.  I really love the style of the font as well, and there is even a cross-stitched ‘Joy” stamp too.

Some hints and tips, I start with the most amount of ‘x’s and the lightest colour of ink for each image.  Standing up and looking over the top helps too so you can line it up.  But even if you don’t line it up perfectly it looks really good. Make sure you use a Stampin’ Pierce mat too as it’s a photopolymer set.
