Sometimes in crafting you do something and think WOW!
This card is one of those. I have a Technique club which meet every month to learn new techniques and one of them this week was painting with bleach. Not a new technique but a very interesting one. I decided to use the Summer by the Sea stamp set one of my favourites and for some reason chose Creamy Caramel cardstock, I’m really not sure why…….
I stamped the image in Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder ( you need to do this to keep the bleach contained when you paint.)
I then got out the bleach from my cleaning cupboard, it’s Domestos, just ordinary bleach, I popped a little bit on an old plate used a fine paint brush and painted the little girls dress. The colour change was very quick, but the best bit was it bleached the Creamy Caramel to So Saffron………….How ?………I have no idea !
I have used the bleach on lots of other colours of cardstock and no other startling colour changes but Creamy Caramel to So Saffron, Fabby!
Happy Stampin’
This looks so effective, must have a try at that.Thank you for sharing.
Gorgeous card, I love that stamp se!
What a fantastic card…..and a very interesting technique, I will never look at my bottle of domestos in the same way again!! Does it leave a bleachy smell on the card?
Mandy
Hi Mandy
No real bleachy smell, but you only use a tiny amount.
That is a lovely card and the stamp you used has worked brilliantly I just love doing this technique you never know what your project is going to look like till it is finished.I have some projects in picture trail, i demonstrated this for my local craft shop among others but sadly it’s closed now.
