I can’t believe that a couple of weeks ago my baby girl was 16, I mean how can I have a daughter who is 16 ?

We had a quietish day really, Kimberley had school and an exam which she was less than happy about I can tell you, I mean, how rude to schedule an exam on your birthday!  Present opening waited until Brian got home and then we had a great Chinese meal and cake.  I was very proud of the cake, I had pinned the recipe months ago (pinned on Pinterest you can find out all about it here) and have been waiting for the chance to bake it.  Because Kimberley is such a good cake baker, I had to pull out all the stops.

I’m going to get into soooooo much trouble for posting a picture of Kimberley, you won’t tell her will you ?

And this is the cake I made, it was scrummy and huge !

You can see the original recipe here.

I did of course make Kimberley a birthday cake using her favourite colour Elegant Eggplant as the inspiration. There was lots of stamps, silver embossing and silver glimmer paper too.  I’m really not sure what has happened between me taking the picture and now…………..but it really is Elegant Eggplant a MUCH deeper purple!  It’s A5 size.

I’m off to my last Inspiring Inkin’ team training for this year, we have 5 cards to make using brand new goodies and a mince pie or 2 as well !!!

Happy Stampin’
