Thank you for all your lovely comments about my craft room, it’s certainly coming along!  I am taking lots of pictures so I’ll do an update early next week. Brian and I have a weekend of smashing out a fire place to look forward to, meanwhile Connor is at the Reading Festival and Kimberley is working her socks off as a waitress before college starts in a couple of weeks.

Today’s card is one that we made at my monthly Card Club, it’s a lovely Tuesday evening or Friday morning as I repeat the class, we make 6 cards drink tea and eat biscuits!  You can find all the details of dates and times by clicking here, or at the top of the website there is a classes and events button click that.

So here is how I made the card.

  • 5 ¾” x 8” Chocolate Chip Card folded in half to make a card blank
  • 5 ½” x 3 ¾” Daffodil Delight Card
  • 5 ¼” x 3 ½” Very Vanilla Card
  • Scrap of Very Vanilla card for the butterfly

Instructions:

  1. Ink up the Dictionary stamp with Crumb Cake ink, stamp once onto scrap paper and then onto the Very Vanilla layer, to give a soft aged look.
  2. Ink up the Butterfly stamp in memento ink and stamp onto the Very Vanilla Layer as shown, re-ink and stamp onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card.
  3. Colour in the butterfly using the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities and then punch out.
  4. Ink up the Happy Birthday using Chocolate Chip ink and stamp on the Very Vanilla layer as shown. Wrap the Daffodil Delight ribbon around the Very Vanilla layer and secure at the back, mount the Very Vanilla layer onto the Daffodil Delight layer and then onto the Chocolate Chip card front.
  5. Finish the card by adhering the punched out butterfly over the top of the ribbon as shown.

I’m off to get my safety goggles and a very large hammer!  Pop back over the weekend I have lots of pictures of my adventure at the Tower of London, planting poppies.
