I love clean and simple cards, and I love complex cards too!  But what I really love is a card that looks complex but isn’t, thats what this Varied Vases card is, an easy to make, complex looking card.  Have I tied you up in knots, confused ?  Let me show you the Varied Vases window card and I hope it will explain what I mean.

Varied Vases Card Stampin' Up! UK Inspiring Inkin' Amanda Fowler

The background on the Whisper White card stock layer is the fabulous Ruffled embossing folder. The effect that the embossing folder gives is like icing has been swiped over the card.  To get the window effect, I diecut a plain square from the Gorgeous Grape card and then die cut over the top of the hole I had just made using the Square Stitched Shapes framelits die to give the texture effect on the window frame.  I find it easier to layer the dies, cutting the hole out first, not sure why it’s easier but it seems to be for me.

I then cut a whisper white square the same size as the outer frame and then stamped the varied vases images inside.  Decorating the orchid with some pearls for added dimension.  The greeting was stamped and punched out and the whole thing was layered up onto the card front.  As I said a simple card that looks complex. Easy when you know how!  You can purchase any of the items I used on this card by clicking non the links below.
