It’s November today, did that sneak up on you? It did me……. 7 1/2 weeks till Christmas. I’m grinning, because I love Christmas but there never seems to be enough time to get everything done, and yet, get it done we do. We have a wonderful time with family and friends and probably too much food. So I’m not stressing, I hope you aren’t too! The trimmer went live first thing this morning and it looks like you love it as much as I do, I have some early morning shoppers! There is something else new today too, well lots of somethings……. let me show you a couple of projects first using the amazing Christmas Rose stamp set.

Wow isn’t that Christmas Rose stamp set lovely? It’s from the NEW Christmastime is Here suite. There are stamps, dies, papers ribbons, glittery dots and even a bangle!

Here is a picture of the whole bundle, but you can buy each individual element if you prefer. Now the stamps are really interesting, the large outline stamp is cling in red rubber, the smaller infill stamps are photopolymer for ease of placement. It works really well. The dies cut out both the stamp and some of the images on the paper too.

Let’s have a close up of my card, you will be able to see all the individual parts, it is so lovely.

I stamped this by eye and it worked great, if you want to do lots of them get out your Stamparatus and that will make it super easy. If you are coming to Card Class this week, we are using this stamp set with the Stamparatus so you can see how fab it is! The colour combination I used was Early Espresso, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede.

So in other news I am finally pain killer free. Yep for almost a week now I haven’t taken any pain killers and my ribs although still a bit grumpy now and then are manageable without pain relief. Hurrah! Brian and I have a busy weekend ahead re-building the greenhouse. Brian built a brick base to it a couple of weeks ago, but in order to do that all the glass had to come out and the greenhouse lifted. So now we have to put it all back, carefully……. Hmmm keep your fingers crossed that my normal clumsiness doesn’t take over.
I’m also baking the Christmas Cake on Sunday, the dried fruit is soaking in Calvados this year. Thought we would change it up, instead of using Whisky. I’m using Mary Berry’s recipe with a few tweaks, I don’t like lots of currants, I prefer raisins and sultanas and I love cherries, so I put twice as many in, I just keep the total quantity of fruit the same and it works.
It looks like I’m on cake decorating duty this year too as Kim won’t be home till Christmas Eve, so I would love to hear your suggestions and decorating ideas. I always put a layer of Marzipan and fondant icing on first as a base, then I’m happy to decorate with royal icing, more fondant, anything really, let me know what I should do!
